Lately there has been a rise of restaurants and hotels being built in the City of Liberal. The percentage of overweight children and obesity is something Liberal loves to focus on but don’t realize there are more food options than entertainment. We need more activities for kids/teens to do. Having a movie theatre and a bowling alley is nothing physical except some moment in bowling. We need more than parks. Trampoline parks are fun for families and a GREAT form of exercise. We also need more shopping opportunities. Hobby Lobby, Home depot, Ross, etc. These would all bring lots of money and people to fill in the over exaggerating hotels and restaurants. PLEASE take this seriously. There are Facebook posts around about upset townsfolk because we have to travel just to have fun. Please make the City of Liberal more than just a “small, boring” town.

Basically City commission has done a poor jod standing infront of our community and relaying ideas agendas and other goings ons. This is not right. It is my agenda to pursue a future of clarity and transparency between citizen an government. This pursuit will incorporate any avenue of disclosure and or communication legally available to me.

There should be meetings such as AA, Al-anon, and other mental health meetings on the calendar. It is liberal there is always something going on especially in the summer, which means no one is updating. There should also be a resource list for individuals to know where to go for the food bank, clothing, etc. Also your web site is very very hard to navigate.
