Senior Exterior Enhancement Program

How do you qualify for the program?

·         Complete an application

·         Receive City inspection and City pre-approval of work

·         Work completed, then inspected and approved by City

·         Submittal of all original receipts or invoices to City

·         Upon approval and completion, up to $2,000 payment will be made to your contractor.

What are the restrictions?

·         You must be the owner and occupant in your home located within the Liberal City limits.

·         Combined household income does not exceed 125% of the area median income

·         Pre-approval from the City is required prior to commencement of work.  Work commenced prior to City inspection and City pre-approval will not be eligible.

·         Work must be completed within 60 days of City approval (extensions may be granted).

·         Property owners will be limited to one Exterior Enhancement application in a 3-year period.

The annual family income must be no more than 125% of the area median income:

For more information and an application, please call the Housing & Community Development Department at (620)626-2250.  Funds are limited and applications will be provided on a first come first-served basis.  Work under this program may be done in conjunction with work under the Housing Rehabilitation Program.  This program is financed through the City of Liberal One-Cent Sales Tax.
