Bitty Basketball
The program is designed to teach children ages 4 and 5 the very basics of basketball. Instruction will be provided by the LHS coaches and players. They will be teaching the basics of dribbling, passing, and shooting. This is a good way to get your youngsters started in the right direction. The fee is $13. For more information, contact Donna at (620) 626-0133. Sign-ups: December 1st through December 31st at Recreation Center 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Blastball
Blastball is a fun and exciting way to introduce your 3 year old to the game of softball/baseball. This unique game features the "honking" base, and best of all, absolutely no equipment is needed, not even a glove. Fee is $13 League Play is scheduled to begin in June. Dates: TBA. Down & Buggy
Ever wonder about bugs and sticks? This program will introduce ages 5-7 to a variety of topics including worms, dirt, trees, frogs, and flying insects. All those crawly creatures and fascinating elements that are important and essential to our ecology. Participants will receive a " Partners in Ecology" certificate and a magnifying glass!! Fee is $13. Held in June and July. Dates: TBA. For more information contact Ronna at (620) 626-0133.

Grasshopper Soccer Fall & Spring Leagues.
This program is designed to teach boys and girls ages 4-7 the basic fundamentals of soccer. There will be two divisions, 4-5 yr. olds and 6-7 yr. olds. There will be separate boys and girls teams. Games will be played on Saturday mornings. Six game schedule. Fee is $13. Fall grasshopper soccer sign-ups: August 3rd through August 28, 2009. For more information call Donna at (620) 626-0133.

Hershey Track & Field
Hershey Track & Field Meet is for ages 9-14. Pick up an entry form at the Recreation Center. Date: TBA - Sometime at the end of May or beginning of June. For more information contact (620) 626-0133.



Junior Golf Lessons
This program is for boys and girls age 7 - 14. Those wishing to participate need to register at the Willow Tree Pro shop. The cost is $25 and each session is limited so prompt registration is recommended. All lessons are held at Willow Tree Golf Course from 10-12 noon in June, July and August. Little Dribblers
This six week program is aimed at teaching 6 and 7 year olds the fundamentals of basketball. Teams will play on a shorter court and goals will be set at 8 1/2 ft. Teams will play a six game schedule. Games will be played on Saturday mornings at Sunflower Middle School. Player fee is $13.00 (includes shirt). For more information contact Donna at (620) 626-0133.

Nature Day Camp
What a fun and different way to spend the day - just checking out all that nature has to offer at the city parks. Campers will find different and exciting activities to do as they explore the many aspects of the great outdoors. All session leave from the Recreation Center. Each session will last one week for a cost of only $13 per camper. Listed below are the sessions and times:

NFL Punt, Pass & Kick
The Recreation Department if pleased to offer the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick program to ages 4 through 15. The winners of the boys and girls division ages 8-15 will be eligible to move on to compete in the sectional competition. This free activity will be held in North Blue Bonnet park in October. Rookie Flag Football
This program is designed to introduce the basic football fundamentals. This league will be NO CONTACT. Games will be held on Saturday mornings in North Blue Bonnet park. Teams will play a six game schedule. Teams will consist of 10 players and will play 6 on 6. Fee is $13. Sign-ups for 2010 season TBA. Start Smart
The National Recreation and Park Association and the START SMARTª Sports Development Program recently became partners in an effort to help better prepare children for participating in organized sports. START SMARTª is a proven instructional program that prepares children for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. As the program progresses and children show improvement, the skill stations are altered so that each child remains challenged. The six week program allows parents to work one-on-one with their children in a supervised setting helping them learn and develop skills such as throwing, kicking, batting and catching. This program is designed for children 3 and 4 years old. The registration fee is $13 which includes instructional materials. For more information contact: (620) 626-0133.


Tennis Lessons
Tennis lessons are offered in two different sessions to boys and girls ages 5 through 12th Grade. The classes are held at the Hank Rowley tennis courts in Blue Bonnet Park. The cost is $13 + one can of tennis balls. Lessons begin in June and continue through July.

Youth Baseball & Softball
*See Blastball for information on the ball program for 3 year olds. The registration fee is $13. League play is scheduled to start in June. Dates: TBA. COACHES ARE NEEDED!!
