On Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 the Liberal City Commission addressed the following items during their regularly scheduled meeting:
Consent Agenda items (airport leases) were approved by the Commission.
The Commission voted to award the bid for the Doll Addition rural housing incentive district (RHID) infrastructure improvements to French Construction. Commissioner Ron Warren abstained from the vote.
A letter of intent with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. for the sale of land south of the Mid-America Air Museum was discussed. The Commission gave consensus to move the item to the next regular City Commission meeting agenda so the Liberal Airport Board could review the proposed sale.
The Commission approved the purchase of walking path lighting for Country Club Park, South Blue Bonnet Park, Mahuron Park, and McCray Park.
Commissioners voted to award the construction bid for the Liberal Mid-America Regional Airport parallel taxiway project to Koss Construction.
The Commission approved the purchase of new rescue and extrication tools for the Liberal Fire Department to use for vehicle extrications and confined space, trench, industrial, and structure collapse rescues.
Commissioners also approved the purchase of door access control systems to be used for the Liberal Fire Department, Liberal Police Department, Municipal Court, Water Department, Sanitation Department, and Wastewater Department.
The Commission voted to approve utility bill waivers for the Stepping Stone Shelter.
The next regularly scheduled Liberal City Commission meeting will take place July 8th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.
