On Tuesday, July 23rd the Liberal City Commission addressed the following items during their regularly scheduled meeting:
Consent Agenda items (airport leases) were approved by the Commission.
The Commission voted to approve Ordinance 4618, which amends portions of city code related to the hours of sale for cereal malt beverages on Sundays. Current city code allows Sunday cereal malt sales to begin after noon. The ordinance would allow Sunday cereal malt beverage sales to begin at 9:00 a.m., matching the hours allowable under Kansas statutes. This ordinance does not go into immediate effect.
Commissioners also reviewed and approved the reappointment of Clarissa Carrillo to the Liberal Memorial Library Board for a four-year term commencing July 2024.
The next regularly scheduled Liberal City Commission meeting will take place August 13th at 5:30 p.m.
