About the Liberal Police & Community Association
The Liberal Police & Community Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a heartfelt mission: to support and uplift the children and families of Liberal, Kansas. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to bring hope, joy, and assistance to children during the holiday season and throughout the year, especially those who find themselves facing unimaginable hardships.
Our Mission
At the core of the Liberal Police & Community Association is the desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of children. Each year, our LPD & Me Christmas event gives children in our community the opportunity to experience the magic of the holidays in a way that is meaningful and personal. Through this initiative, children are able to go holiday shopping, allowing them to feel the joy of giving and receiving in a safe and caring environment.
But our mission doesn’t stop there. Throughout the year, we extend our support to children who face extraordinary challenges—whether it’s the loss of a home in a fire or other unexpected circumstances. Our commitment to helping children in times of need ensures that no child faces adversity alone.
Our Fundraising Efforts
The Liberal Police & Community’s programs are made possible through the generosity of our community. Each year, we host two signature fundraising events that help fund our mission:
Liberal Police & Community Golf Tournament: A day of fun, community, and camaraderie, all in support of local children.
Arkalon Trail of Terror: A spine-chilling Halloween experience that brings people together for a worthy cause.
Every dollar raised from these events goes directly toward funding the LPD & Me Christmas event, where we make sure children in need experience the joy of the holiday season and receive the support they deserve during times of crisis.
