The City of Liberal offers grants to eligible senior citizens, individuals with physical disabilities, veterans, or very low-income families for eligible improvements to their home. The three grants available assist with exterior enhancements, emergency repairs, and weatherization. Grants fund up to $3,000 in costs. Funding for the program is provided by the City of Liberal One-Cent Sales Tax.

Note: storm damages (wind, hail, rain, tornado) will not be eligible for repairs.

Senior Citizen Applicants
- 60 years of age or older.
- Combined household income must not exceed 125% of area median income.

Additional Terms and Conditions
Applicant must provide an estimate by a licensed & insured contractor.
Work must be completed within 90 days of Letter of Approval (extensions may be granted).
Contractor should pull a no fee permit if it is necessary depending on the type of repair.
Work must be inspected after completion.
Upon completion and inspection an invoice will need to be provided and payment will be made to the contractor within 30 days.
Applicant must reside in city limits or the 3-mile extraterritorial area.
