If property was taken as evidence in a case, the evidence department cannot release any property without release paperwork from the officer assigned to the case or the court with jurisdiction. Call ahead if you are planning on coming in to pick up evidence.
Requirements to pick up evidence

Proof of ownership, such as insurance, registration, bill of sale.
Notarized letter (if the owner is having someone else pick up evidence)
NO PROPERTY WILL BE RELEASED WITHOUT PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION
In addition to release paperwork from the officer, or court with jurisdiction, there will also be a background check prior to returning any firearms (this can take up to two weeks).
In addition to release paperwork, the tow bill must be paid for by the owner prior to picking up the vehicle. We will verify with the tow company to ensure that the vehicle's tow bill has been paid for.
Lost property can be turned in to the property management department such as bicycles, keys, wallets, phones, etc. When coming in to pick up found property be ready to show proof of ownership such as bill of sale, insurance, phone bill etc.
