Liberal Police Cadet Program

  1. 1 1st Advanced Class (Fall 2024)
  2. 2
  3. 3
  4. 4
  5. 5

The Liberal Police Cadet Program offers young individuals a unique opportunity to experience the world of law enforcement firsthand. Open to students ages 14 to 21 (participants must be enrolled in high school if under 18), this program is designed to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of community leaders.

As a Cadet, you'll gain valuable insight into the structure and operations of the Liberal Police Department. From patrol procedures and department organization to specialty units and real-world scenarios, cadets receive hands-on exposure that goes far beyond the classroom.

Cadets are guided and mentored by a dedicated team of Liberal PD Advisors—members of our department who are passionate about shaping future leaders and providing meaningful mentorship.

Participation is completely free.
We’re committed to making this experience accessible to all eligible students.

Whether you're considering a future in law enforcement or simply want to serve your community in a new way, the Cadet Program is a great place to start. You'll build skills, grow in confidence, and make lasting connections along the way.

Community Engagement

Cadets don't just learn about law enforcement—they become part of it. Participants have the opportunity to volunteer and represent the department at local events such as:

  • Liberal’s Night Out

  • Liberal Police & Community Golf Tournament

  • Trail of Terror

  • LPD & Me Christmas
    …and more!

These events help Cadets connect with the community, build teamwork skills, and take pride in serving their city.

Next Cadet Class Starts June 3, 2025

Our next Summer Cadet Class begins Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 and will run for approximately five weeks.

Schedule:
We’ll meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings throughout the summer session.
Cadets will participate in engaging hands-on training, discussions, and activities that offer a real look into the world of law enforcement.

If you're ready to challenge yourself, serve your community, and be part of something meaningful—this is the perfect opportunity.
